Needs a turbo 2JZ six cylinder ..gives easily triple the power with decent fuel economy- 358 miles on the odometer ?!- ( before the drive cable ' broke ') Sweet ride, Scotty.
This is my dream toyota too. Love these.
You go bananas trying to explain this.
THANK GOD. NONE OF THAT ELECTRONIC CRAP. JUST ENJOY YOUR DRIVE LIKE A COWBOY OUT ON THE RANGE. CHANGE THE RIMS
Awwww, go ahead and buy it Scotty! YOU deserve it!
Actually it is a chevy motor. In the 60s the came to the dealership with a Chevrolet valve cover that was swapped out with a Toyota on PDI
💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
A Toyota jeep with a Chevy engine?? Not good..
We in Latin America Have them in diesel! 🤩🥳🎉
An indestructible car but you'll need to repair your bones after 10 years, for those with leaf springs :)
Back in the 80s and 90s this car was so popular in my country lol Literally any movies, series and soap operas in my country using this fj40 as a bad guys car. We usually called it 'hardtop' or toyota hardtop
goddam scotty...why must u yelling so loud everytime...my hearing is fine
i like when u speak normally and not as fast
EN COLOMBIA ABUNDAN ESTOS 4X4 Y SE CONSIGUEN ALGUNOS A BUEN PRECIO Y EN PERFECTO ESTADO
0-60 halfday :D
BEAUTIFUL TOYOTA JEEP!❤I WANT ONE!
this man spits too much
My dad’s neighbor in the Dominican Republic 🇩🇴 has a 1968 with a Diesel engine in it.
1968 Cadillac convertible. A full tank, a couple beers under the belt, steak, potatoes, and bourbon. Try it for a week. You will dig it.
That's a nice vehicle.
The problem is where can I find a mechanic like you?
I had an fj40, loved it.. regret selling it
My dad used to left his green toyota, just like that one, for me and my little brother to learn how to drive by ourselves... That thing was an authentic tank....
Scotty my local Toyota garage have one of these traded in by the only owner who bought it new back in 1979 and it was still in original mint condition when he traded it in in 2019, they have it as a display item now, somehow I doubt they gave him anywhere near 80k for it.
I own a 1980 FJ40. Thing’s a Billy goat and has never left me stranded!
I'm interested but i live in Canada, Alberta. Is the Toyota still available? We can exchange phone numbers if you think there is a possible sale. Thanks.
Please make a video on synthetic fuel‼️
I actually have a Toyota Land Cruiser hotwheels
Dude good for you = ) that's awesome = )
My dad had one of those. Painted in it's classic orange with a white top.
I'll buy but my wife will kill me Lol
‘81 came with disc brakes up front 👍🏻👍🏻 My ‘76 has them
I love carborator vehicles... it can't be only me..
In Indonesia we call it Toyota Hardtop
Recorded horizontally😀👍
Great jeep: the best
Square, old and ugly. The truck on the other hand is cool.
I had a 1972 FJ40 Land Cruiser, My engine was just like a 235 chevy stright 6 only, heavy duty. I was having trouble with my distributor, so i swapped it out for a chev.235 6 Distributor, the whole assembly, right down to the cap & rotor. Dropped right in. Ran great. Way cheaper than factory part and easier to find parts for. Bullet/Proof just like the WW11 Jeep, But stronger.
If I had the money. Beautiful!
Had one exactly like that. Drove it 13 years. Sold it to my uncle.
we got an LS swapped land cruiser in the shop I work at.
Im sure Scotty could earn a great extra buck acting for puppetry, imagine the dolls going up and down with his hands
I wish they had the FJ70 imported here. I really want a short wheelbase, truly capable 4x4 with a full metal roof. The 4Runner is kind of too long for the roads and trails here and a Wrangler is too tiny inside for me, my eye line is above the top of the windshield and it sucks driving them. I'm curious if/what a new FJ Cruiser is like, the old one was a bit larger than I'd like, hoping any new one isn't any bigger, if not smaller to fit in tight spots.
Wow this was my first car handed down to me by my Uncle. It was really cool but they came with no AC and that got old really fast in Miami.
My favorite vehicle of all time.A friend let me borrow his for 6 months one time. And was a real 4 wheel drive. Would climb a tree til the bark started to peel. Great heater too in cold weather, and comfortable.
Thats my dream car!!!
Idk why you would say they didn’t sell them in the United States I had a fj-40 land cruiser years ago and they imported them from the early 60s till the early 80s. And I’m pretty sure that they had disc brakes in 82.
Bestill my heart.. Should have bought a few of these lovely classic machines back in my 20's before they became too sky high hog priced.
I wish I had his energy
Come on Scotty . . just come over the north Oz & get horrible bogged & swear off 4x4 forever
Holey hell . . those things are beasts for pig shooting . . dart through the tree's . . smells like victory
We still have these from the dealership in the middle East
5:52 Scotty's next video: Here's how I died!
Here in Colombia these cars are very popular for farmers, miners, coffee growers and even the army. In some places where is difficult to have access to, because of the very tilt roads, these cars are used as a public transportation. I know even in Brazil and Venezuela are very popular too. Great cars for dififcult roads.
Great cars, I had a 69 when I lived on Maui. Used to drive it up the back of Haleakala and go the back way to Hana.
Sorry Scotty, but you're exaggerating on this one. Sure there are some lemons out there but the cost of maintaining my 2002 Boxster isn't nearly as fatal as you describe. Paid less than $14,000 for it at 45K miles three years ago and have only had to replace brake light switch, light bulbs, oil, tires and brakes. If someone doesn't like sports cars they would never like the ride but they almost always like the look.
I want whatever he’s on
My Dad bought one brand new in 1980 to plow snow, we beat that thing to death, what an awesome truck... it finally got so rotted the rear end fell out.... abut mechanically it was mint; now their worth a mint! Thing was amazing in the woods of NH by the way. Thing was crazy fun.
Scotty Arno from South Africa I loved your comments on that red Land Cruiser!👊 You are my favourire person on AMget!
looks like an overpriced knock off to me. He basically admitted it was a knock off of a jeep with a chevy engine then got a boner over it.
Can we ask for voice overs.... I can only watch your videos on mute with subtitles. Oh this voice broo 🤣
Hello, Scotty! I hope you are well, after that damn blizzard! And I hope you eventually bought that Toyoya LC for your wife, even just for joining your good, old and reliable Celica! BTW, I thank you a lot for your advices, I maintain my cars by myself, using just a bit from your experience, and a lot from from your knowledge! (I even have a Trabant, a 2 stroke carburetted 600cc engined East German car, and purrs like a dream - but smokes like a coal-powerplant!) All the best wishes from Romania!
Search "Toyota Bandeirante " ...in Brazil.....
in case you guys missed it. this is a real jeep vehicle
I’m thinking LS swap 🤔
The Land Cruiser has a very torquey engine, compared to its compitetors. The straight six unit is the same that powered the Toyota FA100 trucks (I think they are of 6 tonnes payload).
The iron pig. There is a reason it is used everywhere around the world.
What do you mean you hardly ever see them. They were sold at Toyota dealers when they were being made.
this is a FJ43...NOT FJ40
I was told by my neighbor that owned one. It's a Chevy drive train. He said it was originally a Chevy in competion against Jeep. The Gov didn't buy it so they sold to Toyota. It has a 292 inline 6 cylinder Chevy engine.
Crazy didn’t know that but anyway. My dad gave his to my younger brother. And he put a ls1. Yes. Rocket
Soo.. First.. ilove your videos.. they are awesome :D You are a millionere i guess.. from youtube .. Why be a cheepscate and let you and your misses drive "cheap" cars when you can afford some fun when you are alive?....gees.. when you get six feet under eventualy with millons on account...your kids buy ferraris.. i know i would lol... Money in the bank makes no dreams come true ;)
What a immaculate Toyota!
"It's very thick." If I had a quarter for everytime I heard that 😂
You also can fit chev engine internals
This guy gets a work out every time he talks! My BPM goes up just by listening to him.
Look you're having born 81 you born in 2000
Brother in law launched one looked just like this off a 80 foot cliff with 5 souls on board!!! Everyone survived. They were a great solid platform!
Can you find this in a diesel
Awesome ride
That's imported from south america like colombia
Alot of them in Australia, nooooow m8te ile subscribe if u do a thing on HOLDEN, down under is waiting ya mate from Australia
My favorite one actually this land cruiser fj40 and 60 series land cruiser.
Still have a fair few of these floating around here in Australia mostly 6 cylinder diesel a fantastic vehicle.
This vehicle, the long version, is using as transportation in some Latin-American countries in mountains towns better than new transports...
Had one .... Great car
OH WHAT A FEELING!!!!!!_________
One day I will gift Scotty a brand new Toyota Land Cruiser 5.7 l V8.
Why you yelling? In 2021 microfones pick up voices very efficiently.
Many of these still on the road in Australia.
LS swap
Have a 70's series 1994 3 liter 4 cylinder...also indestructible
In the end it's not about "Mile per gallon" it's about "Smiles per gallon"
I had a 1979 FJ40 Years back was a awsome ride..But it was a Rust Bucket it had a 4.2 4spd..and it was the same color Red & White!
FJ43 is similar to the FJ40...except longer wheelbase and more cargo area
Big old "straight cylinder"?? Straight SIX cylinder you mean. :-)
Oh we have many of those in Costa Rica lol
Toyota bandeirantes
Seriously, how much does he drink before recording this?
we used to have thousands of those cars here in Costa Rica LOL
Good find for realz!
Scotty!! I love U!! And I have a snake!! So, I.m straight!! But I love U!!!
I'd like to know where that roof came from. It's not stock, and I need a new one for my 71 fj40.
Hahaha
I knew I liked this channel for a reason. We both like the OG Land Cruiser.
It a shytbox..
I was driving home long time ago, and passed the Toyota dealership. Saw a green and black Toyota Landcruiser like this one in the parking lot. Went over to drool at it and the keys were in it - and the dealership was closed! Nobody around. It was parked out by the road, too. Man oh man I wanted so bad to drive that thing. For a whole year I dreamed about driving it up into the mountains and hiding it in the woods just so I could go drive it on the weekends. But I knew if I did, I wouldn't get half-way down the street before I'd get caught.
