A genuine American should lead the Volks Wagen America Group. Maybe an American speed metal music band should be the brand ambassador of the VW Sports Division. Genuine Americans to lead the other divisions. Made In America with genuine American mindset is better than Made In Germany with American badging. God bless America. America Über Alles! America Über Alles. Not... Deutschland Über Alles.
Scotty I’m looking at 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix Coup runs fine has a 3100 v6 is it a decent car only has 100.000 miles on it cost 1000 dollars
HEY SCOTTY IS IT BAD FOR YOUR CAR TO TURN IT ON EVERY HOUR TO PATROL AN AREA ? THANK YOU GOD BLESS YOU.

hey scotty is it worth buying an old lx470 with 250k from 2000
Omg, that's good news. I dislike VW. Their vw-supercar is also not very good.
Omg, that's good news. I hate VW. Their vw-supercar is also junk.
Golf TDI very hard to find. They are still selling if available.
The Chevy dealer "junkyard" always makes me laugh.
I’m looking at a 2017 Jeep Renegade with 2500 miles for $17K
Hey you don't said Volkswagen is end cars in USA so you forced me to get a Toyota what kind of person are you
Yes, now you see the Volkswagen Tiguan, Atlas has a lot of problems there's class action lawsuits with them. The quality is gone and there making them with cheaper parts and made in the U.S.
Didn’t Volkswagen get caught modifying the weather around its plant ? Google it
They're not making the 7th generation golf anymore because the 8 will come to the US later this year but only available in gti or R form.
What year did the "Rabbit" become the Golf?...I'm thinking it was late '70's
America's turning to crap
6:11 you are amazing! Scottttty
I agree my VW from 2015 was tens better then a VW from 2017.
Wait so the 8th generation isn’t coming to the US?
I love my base mk6 2.5l
The Passat is leaving the US and the Arteon is on its last leg.
The GM “ junk yard” gets me every time 🤣
Gee, with all of their CORRUPTION and shenanigans over the years and the propensity for WORLD WARS, wouldn't it be great to tell German car companies to FO?!?
There are ten million VW cars on the road all over the US how is this the end of Volkswagen?
good i hope alll german brands bankrupt
Umm, grand ams never had the 3800s. And 04 up were especially JUNK. They were either 3.4s or 3.5s. Never 3800s/3.8
I had a 78 VW Scirocco. It was the worst car I ever owned.
I bought a new Golf TDI in 2001. I sold it about 5 years ago with 326K miles on it. I know that it is still on the road as it is a few miles from me, and it is getting nearly 50 MPG. That was a winner of a car. When I owned that car several people came up to me and asked if I would sell it. That was amazing. How often do people ask if you want to sell the car? These were total strangers too. I own a 2014 VW Jetta Sportwagen TDI now, and it gets 40-42 MPG on street/highway mix. I will have it a long time.
Scotty how do you feel about a Mazda CX3 2018 for $15,000 less then 40,000 miles
You still gonna have Jetta made in Mexico 🇲🇽
All talk , no think . This guy really likes to hear himself talk .
And this video was about??
The golf. But not the gti. Just the base models.
Oh no It Kilmer . What a bag of hot fart gas.
My made on Pennsylvania VW Rabbit WAS A PILE ON JUNK . SCOTTY YOU ARE SO CORRECT.
VW should have kept bringing the 2 doors here. I wish we had the 2 door GOLF R
I wish VW would pull out of the UK market as the cars are bloody rubbish, i fix them on a daily basis and the amount of problems that i see even on young/low mileage cars is beyond me. I have never owned a VAG product and i never will.
The Golf is dead for US/Canada, but the Mk 8 has been out in Europe and the rest of the world for over a year. The Mk 8 GTI and R are coming late this summer or fall and will be made in Germany. Too bad, I have a 2018 Golf S and love it. Another smaller car bites the dust in the US.
More half news and bad advice from Scotty. VW is not pulling out of the US market in fact there market share has grown every year for more than the last 5 years. They are cutting the Mk8 Base Golf mainly becouse we have not gotten a base golf in decades that's why the starting price is so high. The golf is the 3rd best selling car in history and VW is the only company to have 3 cars in the top 10 best selling cars of all time.
I still have my made in Germany base Golf and its doing great. Plus, VW pays their suppliers, ask tier2 Toyota suppliers how well they're paid based off of Excel spreadsheet orders emailed to them.
"Yeah, the Volkswagen's still real popular in Europe, but in the United States, ehhhhh, their popularity is waning." Is their popularity waning? No, I think their appeal is becoming more selective. Spinal Tap FTW!
Gtfoh I love the golf.
well,a company that volkswagon owns, purchased international trucks,so volkswagon basically will still be here
Absolutely nothing wrong with the Mexican built GTI's. It's one of the most modern, automated plants VW has, and the quality levels have been just fine. I've got a '16 GTI that's been trouble free for 5 years.
Wait what????! Every other car I see in the Road is a GTI how is the Golf “dead” in America? Not even including the Jetta’s and Atlas’s, I find it hard to believe Volkswagen is down in popularity
Its because Americans got conned into believing they need giant land whale death vehicles that manufacturers can charge an arm & a leg for. Its a crazy arms race as visibility on the highways are getting worse & worse for people in reasonable sized vehicles.
volkswagens are great vehicles, i have a 2009 TDI 6-speed manual, with 385,000 miles, no rust (i live in the northeast US), and gets over 40 mpg, with no major mechanical issues EVER since ive owned it. interior is unbelievably comfortable, well designed and durable. by far the best car ive ever owned.
Guys you are wasting world’s gas with high fuel consumption cars. We are using 1.6 liter cars, trty them.
4:50 I laughed, my co-worker had the same car. Had the transmission rebuilt twice on it.
My 2005 Camry had bad motor mounts and when I got new ones and I put them in. And two of them were such a pain to get into place with the aftermarket parts. Once I got everything tightened up, minut the front mount. The bolt that holds the bracket to the mount wouldn’t tighten all the way down. And I’m not sure why. And now my car shudders when it is in drive and idle. But not any other time.
VW was always junk the Sirrco had a chance but was junk too.
Grand am never came with the 3.8
Once the standard golf TSI went from a 1.8l to a 1.4l they lost a lot of interest from people
VW Golf 8 is coming but only GTI and R line version!!
Scotty I can’t speak for American but in Canada 75% of cars in high school parking lots are golfs or rabbits. There crazy popular here.
6:00 Simca/Chrysler 1307 or 1308 Talbot or Alpine (UK)
What do you think about Škoda ? Part of vw group
I drive a VW Touran, made in Germany. The speed monitor keeps on failing. I replaced 3 pcs in 3 years. It does not speak much or German engineering.
Having to pull something apart to change the oil filter is the opposite crap that Chevy did with the early Chevette air filter. In that case opposite does NOT mean better! 😜🤦♂️
Volkswagen is not going out of business anytime soon. They are bringing their new EVs to the Chattanooga,TN plant this year and their small EV is already outselling Tesla in Europe! Both Atlases, Tiguan and Jetta are doing pretty good here despite the pandemic.
what does scotty think of polishing and ceramic coating?
Sorry Scotty...I know it's way off topic. Some crackheads totalled my car the other night. I'm very interested in a Crown Vic. I know you've said good things about them in the pastor. Are there any tips you can offer in the Crown Vic...like particular model years that are better or worse, etc? I appreciate anything you'd like to offer me. I need a good highway cruiser and I've only got about 4-5k to invest. 😊
There's a lot of cheap used Mercedes here in the Chattanooga area. It's insane how much they depreciate. I almost bought an older slk vert for my wife but went with an e46 vert instead. I like the m54b30 motors a lot better.
At 4:30. Pontiac Grand am NEVER came with a 3800 engine. The Pontiac Grand Prix has the 3800 engine. 👍
hope and cross my fingers. please ,please.
They are also bad in europe cost a lot but you get cheap plastic parts in engine bay..they are starting to copy bmw cheap plastic i dont know whats wrong with germans
the ID.4 will be a resurgence for VW in America
"Top Ten" most sold cars in Sweden 2020 includes 3 VW models, first Golf at place 4. then Passat at place 5. and Tiguan at 10. The all electric VW ID.3 seems to get a good start too, it was the most sold car in Sweden in December 2020. VAG (Volkswagen Group) has a market share at 30% in Sweden.
@S. Y. about 370.000 new cars every year.
How big is the car market in Sweden?
The end of Hyundai and Kia The end of Volkswagen (Mazda CEO Sneezes).... The end of Mazda
This guy is talking about the largest car company in the world, 🙂 no worries, they are going nowhere they just told everyone hold my beer. (Ps...he is a mecanic)
Outstanding video 👍 thanks Scotty 👏
When I was in germany,a German mechanic told me to never buy any car from Europe.the. undercarriage rusts out but the body still looks like new. When they get some age on them , the electrical problems are a nightmare.i found this to be true.they have sheet metal ,no frame.
If that Grand Am actually has a 3800 its been swapped. GM never produced that generation Grand Am with the 3800 engine. The v6 option was a 3400.
Hey Scotty I have a 2004 VW Jetta 1.8T with and Automatic Trans. The Check Engine Light On and won't pass smog. We have had transmission problems before. The OBD Code came back with a P0715 code: Transmission speed sensor. Car has 144000 miles and the transmission guy is saying the have to drop the valve body yadayada $650. OK with some effort I can replacement TSS myself; from what I can tell the TSS is on the top of the transaxle and not in the valve body. What is your opinion? Sorry for the long winded text this car has been an expensive nightmare to own.
Vw das is eine shitze, never ending
Volkswagen- overpriced ,overrated, too expensive to fix.
My '88Golf was one of the last VW's made in Pennsylvania. It was a very good car and as far as I'm concerned about the last decent car made by VW.
Scotty the grand am did not have the 3800 gen 1 engine, it was the 3400 a notorious bad design and would blow head gaskets with less than 50k miles
We play golf in the weekend to have our revenge on VW.
I like the Golf concept. It was a great design. The original Golf/Rabbit was simple and easy to maintain. And they were fun driving cars. But then the engineers got too much time on their hands and they start to make it complicated, and they breakdown, and they breakdown for no good reasons, and that is annoying. I wanted to buy one many times, but never did. I had a guardian angel looking over my shoulder. Some of my friends have bought over the years, and they always have little problems all the time. Not to mention the friend who bought the diesel, which broken down in the middle of a 2,000 mile road trip. (Oil pump issue which fried the engine.) Cost him thousands to repair, and the flight to the middle of nowhere to retrieve it. And then the diesel-gate, which rendered the car worthless. I think I will stay with Toyota.
VW DAS AUTO!!!! Remember that!!!!
The problem is not the cars, it's the market. Everyone wants SUVs
Plus people here in the USA now only want medium to large suv's, trucks and nobody wants smaller cars anymore here. I personally like smaller cars.
Your head line is deceiving. It should say The End of VW GOLF in America. VW is the second biggest automaker in the world. There is a lot of money in that company. they are not going to go away. Unless the US is becoming a sh*t hole country. When there is nothing more to get they might pack it in . Wallmart style.
Scotty, they are still making golf gti and golf R's. It's just the regular golf's that have discontinued
I had a crap ton of VW’s. 1977-1994 Rabbits, Jetta’s, Golfs, a 1980 Scirocco. I loved my 1984 GTI... Those were the best, anything after 1994 no thanks. They went to 💩 as far as quality.
How do you feel about box body 90s f150s
Get ready for the New VW Electric 2021
Keep your electric crap!
Scotty makes it sound like all hatchbacks but it's only the golf and not the GTI OR GOLF R stop the disinformation you do that to much... BTW in your last video on 6 cylinder engines you didn't even include the VR6 lol I mean a 6 cylinder with one head is pretty interesting I would say. Tighten up your show is in a tailspin imo.
I live in Canada. At least 5 co-workers have VW Golfs lol.
They are teaming up with Microsoft for autonomous driving so.... I don’t think so Scotty.
Hey Scotty. I don’t mind driving a manual transmission daily. And I wanna drive a modern muscle car. Which one would be the most reliable?
Hey you still gonna have the gti and R dont get to excited
Bought a running driving 2000 Mercedes Benz E430 6 months ago for $350.00.
Global warming cheaters
scotty are 2021toyota tundras good cara
I actually like the look of the Golf. How about y’all?
I love it. It’s probably my favorite designed hatchback. Too bad it’s a VW and I don’t live in Europe either.
I bought a MK7 Golf TDI last year. One of the best commuter cars ever. If you drive more than 15 miles to work get one while you can.
I want my 2020 TDI
I’d take a base golf over any Ford hatchback products lol..
i agree 30 bucks for fog lights... not great quality. or low watts lighting quality. i hope the lil investment works. i did get a knock off lightbar off ebay for 20. i enjoyed it. but realized the big difference with retail and knock off. huge quality difference. i tolerated mine as it was for a 3rd light.
So... VW bad in Pensilvania... VW bad in Mexico... But then you accuse Mexicans of being lousy car assemblers... wouldn't you accuse all Americans for the same sin? Or... wouldn't it be more logical to claim VW sucks, as other brands build their cars in the US and México WITH OUT ANY Fin ISSUES!
